Dave and Buster’s: This place is great for the entire family and has something for everyone of every age. This enormous arcade is more than just your average every day game room. It has a restaurant, bar, dinner theatre, live entertainment, games, arcade games, virtual games, strategy games, carnival games, and a staff that is very friendly. This place is amazing. You can sit down and order your food and have a beer while your kids play the games and collect tickets to redeem for prizes. They offer games and entertainment for guys and girls of all ages. Best of all, anyone can afford it. You can buy a card with five dollars in credits and start playing! Dave and Buster’s is the best place to go when you want lots of fun on a small budget!
Houston has lots of museums. There is something for those who love history, entertainment, science, art, and everything else! The children’s museum is a great place to bring your small children. They have lots of hands on activities that are both lots of fun and educational for kids.
For the history buff in the group, a visit to the Holocaust Museum will be an educational experience that will bring a new understanding to the horror of the Holocaust. Be warned, some things in this museum may not be suitable for small children. Many of the videos will be angled and blocked in a way that small children will not be able to see them. This is very educational, but very shocking as well.
Another great museum is the Natural Science Museum. There are lots of exhibits to keep the science person in your family busy for hours. You can see videos, hands on exhibitions, and watch scientist perform science feats that will keep you wondering for hours.
The Imax Theater here shows many great educational pieces that will keep you entertained. They usually have something related to natural science, but occasionally they have things that are not related, but still fun and educational.
NASA Kennedy Space Center is also located in Houston. This is ground control for all NASA missions. There are tours available daily and sometimes you can even watch mission control working on a current mission. This is a must see place for any aviation or space fan. Do not miss this.
